The Detroit Fighting Irish have wrapped up their regular season play. The Irish are marching into the playoffs with an 8-1-0-1 record in the last 10 games. Coach and GM Sam Shaheen have stated in a recent interview, " I'm very proud of our team, after navigating our schedule and having to play 9 games in 10 days. I think we got as much as they could give given the circumstances."

We sat down after our last game of the season with Garrett Benoit on his feelings about the team going into the playoffs. "We have done a pretty good job in our last 10 games but we can not stop there. We know that the first round of playoffs will be a very difficult series to overcome. We cant look onto another series and have to focus on this one but still understand our teams' overall goal which is to reach nationals."

The Irish will be hosting the first round of playoffs vs the Decatur Blaze. Puck drop will be at 8:30 pm on Friday, 7 pm on Saturday, and 4 pm on Sunday. All games will be held at the Southgate Ice Arena. All games will be broadcasted on HockeyTV.
