Two time Allstate Dman Brings a Veteran Presence to Line Up

The Detroit Fighting Irish Junior Hockey Club announced today that 2 Time All state defenseman Shane Romback has signed with the club for the 2020-2021 Season

The 6’1 175 lbs. Defense-man played for Dakota High School and received division 1 all-state honors during the 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 seasons. He tallied 35 pts last season in 25 games last season and was a captain for the very competitive Dakota team.

We are excited that Shane will be part of our organization this season we believe that Shane will be able to develop his game to a level that is going to allow him to have choice on where he will play at the next level. Stated Player personnel Director Sam Shaheen

Even though this will be Shane’s first year in the USPHL he brings a veteran prescience to the Ice and to the locker room his appetite to improve and to continue to work on the little things to make his individual game better is going to transform into a team thing. It's clear Romback has been a team leader with his past team’s and he’ll have every opportunity with our program to do the same stated Head Coach David Taylor

I"’m ready to get the season going and trying to train on and off the ice as much as possible to prepare for the season. Playing for the Irish will give me the opportunity to also prepare and train academically for the rigorous requirement of becoming a successful student athlete and to play a higher level of the game" stated Romback.

The Fighting Irish will be holding tryout camps this weekend and next weekend to finalize the teams USPHL preseason roster.
