Speedy Forward Perry Feierabend Brings Grit to Irish Line up

The Detroit Fighting Irish announced today that 2004 Forward  Perry Feierabend has signed with the Irish for the 2020-2021 Season.  Feierabend is from Macomb Michigan and played last season with the Mount Clemons Wolves U15 team under the tutelage of Coach Sam Shaheen who also is the Irish player and personnel director.

"Perry is a very hard working player on and off the ice. we have had our eyes on Perry for over the last 12 months and have no doubt that he is ready to bring his game to the USPHL to  begin a very successful Junior career" stated GM Dan Vasquez

“Perry represents a great group of players that are coming down the pipeline and the Irish management know that no development process is a true development process without reaching into minor hockey and having a presence and impact on those programs. It's no surprise that the more the DFI staff continues to invite youth programs for training sessions and to participate in youth training events that players and parents begin to understand the Irish program is about putting players futures first and developing not just the hockey player but developing student athletes” stated Shaheen

Perry was offered  a tender by the Irish  prior to the end of last season however he along with his parents wanted the opportunity to participate in a few camps and combines before considering making the jump to Juniors with Midget eligibility left.  Perry not only performed well at those camps but also gained the attention of several other organizations that were impressed by his play against older and experienced players at those camps. It was after the NCDC Combine in Fraser that Feierabend picked up the phone a called his old coach and said he was ready

The Detroit Fighting Irish will be holding additional tryout camps this weekend August 15th and 16th as part of a combined tryout camp in partnership with  the NY Aviator organization  the two teams will be offering positions at the Premier, Elite and U-16 levels there are still openings for the 2 day event you can get more information or register at
